Review

This well-researched guide to winning scholarships features a database
that provides information on more than 1000 entrance scholarships to
Ontario colleges and universities. The database is cross-referenced so
that students can search for scholarship opportunities by institution,
program of study, particular qualifying characteristics (such as
community service), and application deadlines. Those who find print
searches challenging will be pleased to learn that a computer package is
currently under development. The entry for each scholarship includes
information ranging from eligible programs to the value and terms of the
award.

The author—a successful scholarship coach— offers practical advice
not only on the complex process of scholarship application, but also on
the kinds of experiences that students should seek in their high-school
careers to place them in contention. Although directed at a student
audience, his book contains valuable information for parents, school
counselors, and teachers as well.
