Review

Set in the self-contained world of Ottawa’s Sutton apartment/mall
complex, this rollicking tale chronicles the misadventures of Jack, a
man who suddenly discovers a focus for his aimless existence after he
invents a magical cloak that renders him invisible. While invisible,
Jack consoles lonely women, robs from the rich and gives to the poor,
fights with rogues, and assists a television evangelist. Characters with
names like the Wake-Up Man, Cleveland Dan, Mandrake the Mortician, and
Nurse Pugg pass through his life, and he has a score to settle with Elmo
Apse who stole his lover Columbine away from him.

Like a magician, Leo Simpson has taken a story full of fantastic
characters and events and made it believable.
