A young girl is kidnapped. Her pleas for help are broadcast on national
radio and television, arousing the intense sympathy of Canadians.
However, the terms of her release are extreme: Parliament must begin
immediate negotiations for the separation of Quebec.

Although it appears to most politicians outside Quebec that the schemes
of a few fanatical separatists have been successful, the truth is far
more sinister.

Lowell Green is a professional writer and broadcaster who has lived in
Quebec most of his life. His knowledge of the political scene lends
authenticity to this readable, tense, and interesting story.
