Review

This small volume gives five stories from the Old and New Testaments: the stories of Samuel’s childhood; Jonathan and David; Jesus at Jacob’s well; the daughter of Jairus; and the Crucifixion (from Mark). The style is easy to read (about a grade five level) with brief, simple sentences. The stories are fictionalized accounts of biblical record, with references cited for easy access to the original. Characters have been added to several of the stories for easier identification. Illustrations, like the language, are simplistic and plain.
