Review

This book features a great step-by-step program that introduces young
people to the Anglican faith, but would be useful to any group intending
to get together to explore the history, the sacraments, the liturgy, and
the meaning of what we do and believe.

Each themed section in the book presents various activities that can be
done by the group, including painting, studying poetry, singing, acting,
discussion topics, journal writing, and studying about worship. The
themes are Belonging, God, Jesus, The Christian Life, and The Church.
There are planning checklists for the various sessions, worksheets, and
organizational charts.

The five-session plan is intended as a preparation for confirmation,
but it could be used for any type of Christian education, either for
young people or for adults. The appendix is particularly useful for
anyone leading a workshop on what it means to be an Anglican. There are
explanations of who we are, what we do (and why we do it), and the tools
we use. Definitions of everything from an alb to a burse would be
enlightening to many people who attend church but are not steeped in the
Anglican tradition.

This wonderful resource belongs in the library of every Anglican
church, Sunday school, and group leader.
