Review

Gary Lautens regularly wrote a column for the Toronto Star between 1968 and 1982. In several of these columns, Lautens would comment on the performance, personality, and kin of Pierre Trudeau. It’s these columns that have been collected and published in How Pierre and I Saved the Civilized World.

These writings must have seemed pretty facetious even at the time they were first published in the Star; and they have certainly not improved with age. This book appears to be just one more attempt for someone to cash in on Trudeau’s reputation.
