Review

The previous three editions of this Canadian catalogue (the first was in 1981) were published by the world-renowned Scott Publishing; the Scott Catalogue has now been “repatriated” and all prices are now listed in Canadian dollars. It is the only Canadian book available to stamp collectors which still features the established Scott Numbering System used throughout North America, and that is important since the philatelic community at large uses Scott numbers. This book purports to provide collectors of British North America material with the most comprehensive listing found anywhere. In addition to the Scott number arrangement, there are listings for re-entries, bisects, paper and gum types, plate flaws, war tax stamps, officials, postage dues, and so forth. The arrangement is chronological with full-colour reproduction. Along with a listing of postal stationery, stamped envelopes, post bands, wrappers, albinos, postal cards, and paid reply cards, this is a bargain of a book for the price.
