Review

The musical heritage here is the history and evolution of certain forms of music in the Maritime provinces, especially for composed songs that reflect on our society. Types include military music, religious music, British folksongs, “classical” music, and old-time country. This short book is best on the regional Canadian country music of the down-home Maritime provinces. There is no index, which would have been useful for getting at material under song titles.
