Review

Dr. MacLellan was the first woman to hold a pastorate in the Maritimes for the United Church of Canada. Here she explores the many ways in which Teilhard de Chardin influenced the twentieth century development of the Christian faith. She did her primary research at Cambridge and Oxford during a two-year leave beginning in 1972. Come and See is an interpretive commentary on the inspiration of Teilhard de Chardin’s works that deal with creation, incarnation, and redemption, as well as materials on chemistry and psychology, insofar as they relate to what Teilhard de Chardin was writing about. Although there are footnotes and an extensive bibliography, there is no index — a decided drawback to a work of this sort.
