Review

This book is written in the form of a diary that follows the author’s
experiences in the world of rock and roll. From 1964 to 1970, Anstey
played in various bands in and around Vancouver. In The Making of a
Sixties Band, he chronicles everything from forming his first group, to
his first concert experience (in the living room before family members),
to the difficulties of hiring and firing band members. Ultimately, his
story is a very personal one. It is supplemented with photos that are
poorly reproduced but helpful in identifying the changing characters
over time.
