Review

A fig for true love! Marry for money! The Gold Diggers’ Guide is a cheeky and cheerful look at the world of the very, very rich, and an almanac for those hopeful souls who would do anything to join that exclusive crowd. Here is all the advice they will require, under such headings as The Gold Diggers’ Hall of Fame (absolute bull’s-eye targets); The Gold Diggers’ A to Z (an alphabet definitely not for beginning readers); The Gold Diggers’ Address Book (in case one has trouble locating the fashion house, hairdresser, etc.); The Gold Diggers’ Survival Manual (any amount of eclectic but related info); and The Gold Diggers’ Check Up (a questionnaire to determine whether the candidate is really ready for the rigors of the chase). After passing that last hurdle, they’re on their own, with author Schnurmacher’s blessing. Foolish, diverting, and a trivia-freak’s bonanza of useless tid-bits about the lives of the filthy rich.
