Review
This sophisticated collection of six short pieces reveals the author’s masterful ability to capture the essence of a situation in a few delicately chosen words.
This is Robinson’s first book of fiction, although he is the author of five books of poetry. Three of the stories are set in Southeast Asia, and relate to one another by the presence of George and Jessie Terry, travellers on what is proving to be a voyage of self-discovery. Of the three remaining tales, two are set on the west coast of Canada, and one in Toronto. Each is fine of its kind. Once read, these stories will linger in the memory.
