Review

This is a safe, lulling sort of book. Daniel tells us that he loves his children, is sad about being divorced, and can be moved by the beauties of nature. Even the unhappy poems have a comforting, bland sentimentality about them. A poet, when he is doing his job properly, is a risk-taker. He should stretch language and his soul to the breaking point. This collection is unadventurous in both form and content. Pass it by.
