Review

The Working with Words series is designed to teach children how to use
parts of speech and punctuation. Each guide in the series includes
teaching ideas to help early- to middle-elementary students understand
grammar usage; learning activities, such as skill inventories for
spelling, grammar, and punctuation and extension ideas; a useful
glossary; and worksheets. The activities are based on a premise of
constant reinforcement according to a planned and structured approach to
instruction; the variety of exercises for independent practice and
review are clear, understandable, and easy to follow.

These guides would serve as good, supplemental resources in an English
language arts program.
