Review

J. Robert Watt is a United Church minister who has put together a series of sermons about frustration, worry, humility, forgiveness, and other aspects of human relationships and love. There is really very little in The Heart Renewed concerning his open heart surgery, and what there is serves rather as metaphor for Watt’s meditations on Christianity and the human condition. His method is to use jokes, anecdotes, and gentle persuasion to convince people to be both kindly and creative in their dealings with one another.
