Review
Daryl Sharp has produced another primer on Jungian psychology, drawing
upon his own experiences and writings on the subject over the last 20
years. Jung’s map of psychological types, along with the role of
archetypes, complexes, and the shadow, are discussed in the context of
psychological and developmental issues relevant to the second half of
life. Jung devoted considerable time to examining this stage of life.
Sharp’s lucid and thoughtful presentation of the mid-life crisis, and
of the process of becoming conscious as a result of it, serves as an
excellent introduction to Jungian thought.
