Review

Written for a lay audience, Legacy of Stone focuses on an archeological
excavation in southwestern Ontario. Over a period of several years the
consulting firm owned by Ronald Williamson excavated at the Peace Bridge
site in Fort Erie. This thorough, comprehensive, and personable book
presents informative analyses of artifacts and places them in cultural
context. The sidebar text deals clearly with technical topics such as
radiocarbon dating. It also deals with Native concerns about the
discovery and reburial of human remains.

One problem with the book is that it paraphrases the research of others
without giving proper credit. In addition, there are no references cited
in the text. These drawbacks mar an otherwise excellent publication.
