Review

By the time you turn 70, you will have spent a total of 23 years
sleeping. Everything you ever wanted to know about sleep is covered in
this entertaining, informative, and crisply written book. Individual
chapters explore the body’s need for sleep, sleep/wake cycles, dreams,
insomnia and other sleep disorders, and strategies for improving
sleeping patterns.

Despite the appearance of terms like suprachiasmatic nuclei and
hypnagogic, the nicely illustrated text is highly readable. The chapter
on dreams includes strategies to help you remember and interpret your
dreams—and get rid of your nightmares. Suggestions for activities are
interspersed throughout the book. Highly recommended.
