Review
Working moms and dads will appreciate this book for young children,
which emphasizes that even though moms and dads work, “there is always
time for me.” Warm, colorful illustrations accompany a variety of job
descriptions. Moms are seen involved in careers ranging from letter
carrier, to pilot, to salesperson. Dads are shown performing jobs
ranging from chef, to architect, to homemaker. Each occupation is
briefly described. How parents might get to their jobs—such as
walking, bussing, or carpooling—is also described.
The text emphasizes that whatever moms or dads are doing, there is
always time for their children—to give them hugs and kisses at the end
of the day. Caregivers, too, might find this book helpful when
responding to little children who ask what mom and dad do when they are
away at work. Recommended.
