Review

Vanessa was once so small she could fit in a shoe box, but now she has
teeth, walks, and eats grown-up food. She enjoys sharing special
occasions such as Christmas and birthdays with friends.

Once I Was Very Small is a simple story of a young girl, about 2 years
of age, remembering when she was a baby. Small children will enjoy
having this book read to them as they reminisce with their parents about
their baby/toddler years.

The cartoonlike watercolor sketches add detail and humor to the text,
as the reader watches cheerful Vanessa grow from being “very small”
to experiencing the wonderful events of childhood. Recommended.
