Review

In an era when people across North America increasingly describe themselves as spiritual rather than religious, many are looking for alternative ways to explore issues of faith outside the traditional institutions many believe have failed them. A series of transformational lectures was established to address that search.

This thought-provoking book contains excerpts from those lectures and their subsequent speaker/author dialogues. Bestselling author Thomas Moore explores the journey of the soul, while world-renowned Jungian therapist Marion Woodman discusses ways to consciously awaken spirit and help it harmonize with body and mind. For his part, Lt.-Gen. Romeo Dallaire shares personal observations from his 1993–94 tour in Rwanda when his faith in mankind was severely tested. In an uplifting chapter, U.N. special envoy Stephen Lewis suggests ways to empower self and others to assist those in crisis. Rounding out the text, bestselling author Martin Rutte explores what it would take to create heaven on Earth.

All the lectures will provide much food for thought for anyone who has pondered the question “Why am I here? What is my purpose?”
