Review

Over the Edge combines an abridged history of rock music with a musical
book of lists that includes everything from astrological signs of the
stars to real names of famous performers to video and bootleg
recordings. Notwithstanding the inclusion of such items as “101
Strange But True (and sometimes Useless) Facts,” the book is not
frivolous. Especially useful is the chapter entitled “A Quick Guide to
New Rock on the Net,” which shows the reader how to contact record
labels and relevant music news sites. This engaging and readable book is
highly recommended for students, performers, or aficionados of pop/rock
music.
