Review

Although the title may be somewhat deceptive, this book captures the
reader’s attention by the very nature of its contents. The authors
combine their expertise in the fields of ophthalmology, education, and
writing to produce a book that explores the fascinating capabilities of
the human eye. The science is presented in a clear and precise manner
that avoids overly technical explanations. Diagrams and drawings are
used to illustrate some of the more technical aspects, and a series of
low-organization activities are presented to demonstrate the various
ways in which the eye and brain interact. A glossary of terms is
included. This book makes science fun and learning meaningful.
Junior-grade children will enjoy this book.
