Endangered Mountain Animals

Jean Free, a library consultant, is a retired public-school teacher and
librarian in Whitby, Ontario.

Endangered Forest Animals discusses animals of the forest and wildlife

jaguar, orangutan, and eastern cougar. Habits, food, life in zoos, and
predators are examined, along with the necessity of saving the world’s
forests.

in these areas, with chapters on the white rhinoceros, bison, prairie
dog, cheetah, burrowing owl, and crane. The book suggests ways in which
students can help preserve endangered areas.

Endangered Mountain Animals explains how mountains were created, and
tells about the endangered, threatened, and rare animals who live there,
including the giant panda, bighorn sheep, snow leopard, brown bear, and
mountain gorilla.

Endangered Wetland Animals emphasizes the importance of marshes in
preserving wildlife. Egrets, white pelicans, massasauga rattlesnakes,
hippopotamuses, alligators, and ospreys are among the animals it covers.

Each book in the series has a clearly written text, with boldface
subheadings and sidebars. Every page has beautiful color photographs
that both interest and inform young readers. Glossaries and indexes are
included in each volume.
