Review

Portus Potter races through his home and school like a hurricane. When
his classmates demand that he stop and call in their cats, dogs, and
grannies to help, they discover that his whirling and twirling creates a
fanciful playground, where they can swirl and spin and whiz down slides
in “the strangest, the most outrageous . . . the most fantastic play
ground on earth.”

This imaginative story will be a winner with restless preschool and
primary-grade children as they fantasize about the results of Portus
Potter’s chaotic fun. The cartoonlike drawings add delightful
slapstick humor to the text. Teachers and parents can encourage children
to create another Portus Potter adventure.

A fun read for both adults and children.
