Review

Douglas Leighton, whose photographs have been featured in The Canadian
Rockies, The Canadian West, and Greater Vancouver, turns his attention
to the whole of British Columbia in this attractive coffee-table book.
His vibrant and nicely reproduced photos showcase the things for which
British Columbia is famous: townscapes and seascapes, multicolored
sunsets, and sailboats. The far north of the province and the
Cariboo-Chilcotin regions receive as much attention as the more populous
regions. Leighton is able to find equally attractive subjects in all
kinds of environments. Accompanying the photos are interesting captions,
many of which provide information about local history or natural history
information. British Columbia would make an excellent gift, especially
for those planning to visit the province.
