Review

From biblical days to contemporary times, the tale of Noah’s Ark has
been the inspiration for a variety of presentations. Barbara Reid uses a
poem to describe how Noah made a huge ark to save pairs of God’s
creatures. The whimsical nature of the characters provides a novel
interpretation of an old story for preschool and primary-grade children.

Much of the poem, written in rhyming couplets, can be sung to a
traditional tune that is included, or it may be used as a counting rhyme
up to 10.

The pictures accompanying the text are of Plasticine that has been
shaped and pressed onto a board and photographed. A shiny effect has
been created by covering the Plasticine with acrylic paint. The result
is that the pictures have a rich texture and a noticeable third
dimension. Recommended.
