Review

This colorful picture book, illustrated by the popular children’s
writer Stéphane Poulin, is sure to be a favorite among younger readers.
The pictures strive for scientific accuracy, providing a wealth of
pictorial information and conveying a sense of the world during the
dinosaur age. Adding a humorous touch is an unlikely time traveler, who
goes to extraordinary lengths to obtain photographs of the dinosaurs in
their natural habitat. The text relates information in clear,
easy-to-read language that complements the pictures beautifully and
should not be too challenging for a beginning reader. Also included is a
section containing more detailed information, which younger pupils can
use as a resource for research. This is a fun book that will stimulate
many interesting learning opportunities.
