Review

This gentle story of two very old and very good friends tells of
Mademoiselle Moon and Mr. Sun, who have known each other since “the
dawn of time.” Although they rarely meet, each is reassured and
comforted by the knowledge that the other will always be there in times
of need. When Mademoiselle Moon loses her job to a new moon, she finds
out just how deep and selfless her friendship with Mr. Sun is.

Gay writes with rhythm and charm and her illustrations—using somewhat
muted colors—produce an interesting book for primary-grade children.
Recommended.
