Review

This is a science resource book children will read and refer to with
interest and genuine pleasure. The factual information is presented in
terms so relevant and in a text so readable that children (and their
parents) will likely make some challenging discoveries.

The book is divided into four chapters: earth cycles, air, water, and
soil. Each chapter contains seven to ten sections detailing some aspect
of the topic and making a strong case for the necessity of conservation.
The information is accompanied by entertaining line drawings and by
detailed but straightforward experiments that children can easily carry
out using household items.

The book concludes by urging children to become socially aware and
active in pressing for legislative change to safeguard the environment,
and telling them how their learning can make a difference.
