Review

This is one in a series of kits featuring individual dinosaurs. Each kit
includes an easily assembled dinosaur skeleton enclosed in a 15 x 10 cm
plastic egg, an information booklet, and a small poster.

Plastic “bones” snap together to form the anatomically correct
skeleton (in this case leptoceratops). A small book (13 x 10 cm)
provides general information about dinosaurs and their place in the
family tree of living creatures, fossils and specific facts about
leptoceratops: food, mode of locomotion, enemies, and environment. The
poster (again small: 41 x 36 cm) features a leptoceratops male, female,
eggs, and babies shown in their habitat, accompanied by a chart
indicating that particular dinosaur’s classification, time period,
size and weight, food, location, and special distinguishing features.

This is a wonderful instructional and creative kit for children
embarking on their first discovery of dinosaurs. The instructions for
assembling the skeleton are easy to follow, the written information is
concise and well-organized, and the illustrations of booklet and poster
are brightly colored and eye-catching.
