of the seven classical wonders of the world in this pocket-sized
reference work for schoolchildren.

Given the compact size and limited number of pages, only the most basic
facts about each monument can be presented. However, enough information
is included to give the young reader a general sense of the purpose,
physical characteristics, and impressiveness of each. Similarly, the
pop-up illustrations give some idea, albeit in a very rudimentary
three-dimensional fashion, of the structures’ form and shape. The maps
of the Mediterranean and Near East pinpoint the location of each
monument and indicate their geographic relationship to one another.

Bright and colorful, this award-winning little book is attractive to
the eye and invites the reader to delve inside. It can be used as an
engaging starting point for further research on the seven wonders of the
ancient world.
