Review

This is a picture-poetry book for children, well chosen to be accessible
and enjoyable to them. It presents such favorites as “Little seeds we
sow in spring / Growing while the robins sing,” Blake’s “The
Lamb,” and Christina Rossetti’s “Who Has Seen the Wind?”

While the illustrations embellish the text, the format is distractingly
inconsistent. For example, some of the poems are printed in a white
block in the middle of the illustration, taking away from the overall
effect.

For those who wish to rear children with an appreciation of poetry,
this book is a good beginning.
