Review

This cheerful picture book recounts Santa’s mishap with a new team of
mechanical reindeer. Once entangled with a city’s skyscrapers, Santa
spills most of the presents out of his sleigh and lands in a snowbank.
As a neophyte citydweller, Santa makes a new life for himself as an
all-round handyman (plumber, mechanic, small-animal trainer, and the
friendliest of present deliverers). Oh yes, he also rents a little
workshop, where he makes toys. Maybe, it is suggested, he is one of your
neighbors. . . . Not inspired, but as beautifully colorful as all of
Tibo’s work. For children to about ages 5-6.
