Review

The title poses the question and the answers will amuse and delight the
young reader. He/she is asked if fairies are merely collectors or do
they actually make use of the teeth? Necklaces, saws, musical
instruments, false teeth, costume disguises, stardust, and magic potions
are some of the possible suggestions. Finally, there’s another
question for the reader: “What if the fairies visit animals, too?”

The illustrations, which won the Mr. Christie Award, are in full color
and are rich in detail. A child can look at these pictures every time
the story is read and still find some new, small drawing to examine.
Three- to five-year-olds will enter into the spirit of this book and
delight in the imaginative possibilities presented. Well-constructed,
with large print and true colors, this book will be a bedtime favorite.
