Review
Asha, has two mothers, but her kindergarten schoolmates and her teacher
do not believe this or accept it. Her teacher even tells her to have her
parents fill out a certain form again since they must have filled it out
wrong. The story ends with her schoolmates meeting both her mothers, and
being awed by it and also happy for her.
This story presents to children new forms of families, which they will
encounter more and more in our society. Reading this book to your child
will be a way to start discussing different types of families and
lifestyles and how others might react to them—especially unusual ones.
