Review

Restricting its focus to five countries—Australia, Canada, New
Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States—this well-organized
and user-friendly guide provides a general introduction to engineering
education and to engineering as a profession.

Organized by country, the book includes detailed profiles of 101
institutions and summary descriptions of some 300 other schools. Only
fully accredited programs are covered, and reference is made to the
recognition the various programs have received. The country sections are
preceded by an overview that provides international students with
information on such matters as cost of living, medical insurance, visa
requirements, and ESL opportunities. The institutional profiles include
information on student demographics, program characteristics,
facilities, faculty, financial support, expenses, admission requirements
and procedures, as well as some general information about the city and
area in which the university is located.
