Review

When her parents’ rocky marriage ends, Alison’s mother announces
that they, along with Alison’s cousin Becky, are moving to Horner
Creek, Alberta. Alison hates the idea of leaving her exciting life in
New York City. The girls must also leave behind their good friend Meg.

Becky’s discovery of Twin Rocks Ranch changes the girls’ lives.
While looking for a place to board Shadow, Alison’s wild horse, the
girls meet Sara and her mysterious brother, Rob, who are desperately
trying to save the financially troubled ranch that was left to them by
their parents. Alison discovers her talent for the rodeo while Becky
tries to train Shadow and solve the mystery surrounding Rob. Sara and
Alison are anxious to take part in the upcoming Calgary Stampede, but
during qualifying competition, an accident takes place that may change
everything. But was it really an accident? Working together and
overcoming their differences, the friends search for the truth.

This fifth book in the exciting Mountain Mustang series is meant to
stand on its own, but familiarity with the previous four books in the
series would greatly enhance the reader’s understanding of the
relationship between the girls. Recommended.
