Review

Josie, who is younger that her twin brother and sister, is tired of
being referred to as “Little One.” Summer has come and they’re off
to their grandfather’s cottage in Nova Scotia. The previous summer the
three siblings had found a tiny dinosaur bone, believed to be a “first
find.” All they need now is just a little more proof that this tiny
dinosaur existed.

While her siblings are away with their parents, Josie sets out to find
that proof all by herself. However, success doesn’t come easy. Staying
in the cottage next to her grandfather’s is a fossil-hunting adversary
named Lucan. The young boy is bound and determined to find the best
fossils he can so that he can sell them in his uncle’s store. Lucan
and his fierce-looking white dog keep Josie on edge as she forays along
the beach hunting for fossils. But all she wants is to find the evidence
that proves the little dinosaur existed, and to prove to herself that
she indeed has the makings of a budding paleontologist. Surprising
developments in each chapter will leave readers unable to put this book
down. Young readers will find this easy-to-read story exciting and
rewarding as Josie tries to find her proof before it gets washed out to
sea with the tides. Highly recommended.
