Review

Are you a craft enthusiast, a busy teacher, or a parent planning a
Halloween party? Huguette Kirby provides a fun, upbeat, and ghoulish
collection of 16 step-by-step projects in Halloween Crafts.

The activities range from pop-up cards, costumes, and masks to house
decorations and cake decorating. Costume projects include “Ghostly
disguise,” “Vampire bat shirt,” and “Pumpkin hat.” “Spider
pie” and “Maggot cake” are among the food ideas. Each craft
project is accompanied by a supply list, easy-to-follow directions, and
short anecdotes. Projects requiring adult assistance are identified by
means of a symbol. The materials required for the projects are
inexpensive and, for the most part, readily found around the house.

Bright, precise photographs and clever page layouts will inspire craft
lovers of all ages. Halloween Crafts deserves a place in school and home
libraries. Highly recommended.
