Review

Fans of the Franklin stories and TV series will get hours of enjoyment
helping their favourite turtle prepare for the holidays. The brightly
coloured, laminated covers of Franklin’s Christmas provide the
backdrops for the celebrations. The fold-out front cover features
Franklin’s living room, while the back cover depicts the dining area.
Using the 30 vinyl stickers included, children can let their
imaginations run loose creating their own scenarios, decorating the
tree, wrapping presents, and then sitting down with Franklin and his
family to enjoy Christmas dinner. The reusable stickers allow changes
and revisions to be made as desired.

Inside, a variety of activity pages—including word searches and
scrambles, finding hidden objects, matching games, identifying
differences, and mazes—provide opportunities for fun and skill
development. An answer key is found in the back of the book. There is
even a recipe for Franklin’s Christmas morning cinnamon toast—adult
supervision is required, of course. Finally, children will simply enjoy
colouring the activity pages.

On their own or with help from an adult, Franklin’s Christmas is sure
to be popular with preschool and early primary-grade children.
Recommended.
