Review

How would you like to create one-of-a-kind toys, gifts, cards, or
jewelry with a stack of paper, a pair of scissors, and some glue? Author
Amanda Lewis has cleverly compiled a book that will teach you how to
make more than 50 amazing paper crafts.

The Jumbo Book of Paper Crafts starts off with an introduction to
different kinds of paper and eight “tricks of the trade” to ensure
great success when working with paper. Lewis then zeroes in on five
specific categories of paper projects, offering several delightful
crafts for each. These include paper-folding, paper-cutting,
paper-weaving, paper-gluing, and paper-making. Readers will appreciate
the easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions and the informal dialogue
written in italics. Colour illustrations enhance the text, providing
visual instruction for project simplicity.

Kids, parents, and teachers will enjoy making such things as a Japanese
doll bookmark, fan earrings, a glow lamp, shadow puppets, party
crackers, paper potpourri, and a wish wheel. Highly recommended.
