Review

These two books introduce babies and toddlers to a wide range of
everyday activities associated with having friends and pets.

My Pets brings out themes of caring for pets such as cuddling, feeding,
cleaning, and exercising them, as well as loving them, taking them to
the vet, and simply having fun with them. A variety of animals are
represented in the book.

My Friends considers who our friends are (older people, younger people,
siblings, etc.) and what we do with our friends, from helping them to
laughing and having fun with them.

The text is appropriately simple given the book’s target audience.
The photos are colourful and realistic, representing children from a
variety of cultures and settings. Recommended.
