Review

In this third great Canadian sleuthing story in the Adventure.Net
series, Rick and Willow Forster head out to Dry Valley, Alberta, with
their parents on a dinosaur dig. While the kids are helping the
paleontology team search for the fossilized head of a T-Rex, a number of
bizarre accidents and missing equipment send Rick and Willow off on some
detective work and a trail of exciting incidents.

Rick and Willow’s continuing adventures prove that an unconventional
lifestyle can be exciting and very real. Following these characters
through the series (The Silver Boulder was set in British Columbia, and
The Lost Sketch in Ontario) gives the reader a better understanding of
the characters’ individual personalities as they travel across Canada
with their rather unusual filmmaking parents.

Andrea Spalding has written an action-packed story. Her husband David
has provided the factual information about dinosaurs and digs, including
the names of “kid-friendly” Web sites where readers can develop some
research skills of their own. The result is a story that budding young
paleontologists will find both fun to read and interesting. Highly
recommended.
