Review
In this sequel, Pat Hancock provides further interesting and sometimes
very strange Canadian trivia facts. Various fonts are used in the titles
of the facts that are sometimes expressed in creative questions such as,
“Great Balls of ... Plastic Wrap?” or “Oh, Borealia, Our Home and
Native Land???” Three reoccurring titles in the book used by Hancock
to communicate some of the trivia are “Did you know...?,” “Just
the Stats,” and “What’s that, eh?”
Hancock has collected trivia facts from all over Canada. The book
includes information about the biggest hockey stick in Canada, Walter
the Farting dog, garter snakes, dinosaur poop, and Canadian rock stars.
Amusing cartoonlike drawings accompany several of the facts and the book
contains some authentic black-and-white photographs. The trivia does not
seem to be organized in any particular order and consequently a table of
contents would have been helpful to readers. Recommended.
