Review

Small Town Glory details the Kenora Thistles’ historic 1907 Stanley
Cup victory. According to the authors, Kenora, Ontario, remains the
“smallest town to ever win a major sports championship.” Although
the book does not go into great depth about the personalities of those
who made it all happen, it does provide enough information to satisfy
curious readers and even to inspire those wishing to reach the top,
regardless of their field of endeavour.

Inserted throughout the main narrative are sidebars containing
information that provides historical context and helps the reader to
draw comparisons between the Stanley Cup competitions of today versus
those of a century ago.

Small Town Glory is an interesting read. Recommended.
