Review

Linh-Mai and Brian are unlikely friends who happen to be members of the
same soccer team. In an ironic twist, just as things are literally
starting to get clearer for Linh-Mai as she receives her new glasses,
things are getting blurry for her friend. Brian, the star goalie, has
just discovered that he is losing his vision. That is a difficult
challenge for anyone, let alone a teenager.

Out of Sight forces its readers to question the meaning of friendship,
loyalty, and all the other things that make life worth living. Through
Brian’s story, the author shows us that life’s challenges can be
turned around; it just takes a different way of looking at things.

Rayner has written a heartwarming story that manages to avoid
fairy-tale endings. Out of Sight is a book about real life. Highly
recommended.
