Review
Author Staunton and illustrator Parker present a spirited tale full of
action and high adventure. Miss Fishley reminisces about her childhood
career as a cabin girl on her father’s ship. Their last voyage was
with a cargo of treasure, and they were captured by pirates. Their ship
capsized and Miss Fishley eventually came up with a plan that saved them
all.
The story is told with dash and humor, and Miss Fishley’s present-day
neighbors closely resemble those pirates from long ago. The colorful
illustrations add energy and character to this impressive effort.
