Review

This comprehensive collection of ideas and suggestions for the language
classroom is an excellent source of valuable information for new and
experienced teachers. It contains a review of reading theory, a wide
variety of activities that build on theory, and different diagnostic
tools, ready for immediate use. Page layouts are easily accessible, and
clearly highlight key points. Remediation and enrichment, whole language
and phonics: more than 70 elements related to reading are addressed, and
the lists of resources and literature suggestions cover many pages.
Appendixes include checklists, guidelines, and rubrics in handy
black-line master format.

Guiding the Reading Process will be a useful reference book, with
specific and realistic recommendations for helping to develop a
community of readers in your classroom.
