Review

Christopher is a good little boy in every respect—except one. He
won’t clean up his messy, dirty, smelly room. Even the local
cockroaches find it untenable. Finally, it gets so bad that
Christopher’s pet goldfish enlists the help of the cockroaches to get
Christopher to clean up. That night the cockroaches wake Christopher up
and order him to work. Frightened that the roaches will return if he
doesn’t clean up and keep his room clean, Christopher gets to work.

Sadu’s lively story delivers a clear message to young readers using
repetition of text in a fun way. Condy’s comical, colourful
cartoon-like characters are equally entertaining, and add even more
humour to the story. Please Clean Up Your Room! would make an excellent
bedtime story. Highly recommended.
